As you know, the weather is not looking good for tomorrow’s parade. Wind chills are predicted to be in the single digits. Those of you who have done this parade before know how strongly the winds blow through the bldgs in downtown Tulsa. That being said, I am monitoring the forecasts closely and will make a call as early as possible if we are going to cancel (bear in mind that the organizers of the event may cancel too like they did last year just as we were about to leave school to go there.) Unfortunately, we will have to wait and see. Oklahoma forecasts are notoriously unreliable, so I don’t want to make a call too early.

If we DO go, we will travel in full uniform. Please wear whatever you need to beneath your uniform to keep you as warm as possible. Guard, please wear your warm-up outfits as your outermost layer so you’ll look uniform. I also suggest hand warmers! Guard can wear stocking caps if you like. Band can too if you can cram them under your shakos.

Because of the real possibility of canceling, I am NOT going to arrange for lunch like we talked about. Last time we were stuck with loads of Charlie’s Chicken. So, please bring a lunch or plan to go to lunch with someone when we get back around 1pm. If we do get to go, I will try and get some snacks to bring with us since lunch will be late.

Watch for a remind text regarding our plans either later tonight or in the morning. Also, keep an eye on the news. If the parade is canceled, obviously we’ll be in school.
