The Charles Page High School Gold Pride band had a very successful Fall 2009 Semester. The band toured the great state of Oklahoma performing their marching show FACTORY in such cities as Edmond, Ponca City, Sapulpa, Broken Arrow, Enid, Stillwater, Tulsa, and of course, here in Sand Springs at Memorial Stadium.
The band also participated in many marching competitions though out the semester. First up was the Putnam City Marching Classic on September 26 th . In Class 6A, Charles Page finished in 9 th place with a score of 52.20.
From there the Pride went on to the Pryor Marching Festival where they finished 2 nd in class 5A with a score of 178.6 and came in 8 th in finals competition with a score of 173.3.
The next stop on the Pride's fall 2009 marching tour was Tiger Stadium in Broken Arrow for the OSSAA Eastern Regional Marching Contest. There are not preliminary and finals competitions at this contest, but just one chance to earn a score of 1, 2, or 3. Charles Page earned an overall score of 2.
The last contest of the year was the Oklahoma Band Masters Association Marching Championships. Charles Page came out of OBA finishing 18 th with a score of 59.75.
The 2009 marching season accomplished many of the goals set forth by the directors during summer band. While the Pride fell short during some contests their efforts cannot be ignored. 2010 will be a year of great success for the Gold Pride Band and we all look forward to watching every band member on the field.
